2. Local Data Processing

All Geofeed entries you enter (IP prefixes, country codes, regions, cities, postal codes) are processed exclusively in your browser's memory. No data is transmitted to any server.

The editor's state (including your entries and current filter) is encoded and stored in the URL hash (the part after the # in your browser's address bar). This allows you to bookmark the current state or share it with others by simply copying the URL. All data remains on your local machine and is not sent to my servers.

No data is stored in cookies, localStorage, or any database. When you close the browser tab, the entries are only preserved if you have the full URL with the hash or have exported them as a CSV file.

3. CSV Export

The "Export CSV" button generates the geofeed file entirely within your browser and triggers a local file download. No data is transmitted to any server during this process.

4. Hosting — Netcup GmbH

This website is hosted on a webspace provided by:

When you access this website, your browser automatically transmits data to the hosting server, including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, date and time of access, and pages visited. This data is recorded in server log files by Netcup in accordance with their standard operating procedures and legal obligations.

These server log files are managed by Netcup and are deleted as soon as they are no longer required for technical or security purposes (e.g., to investigate cyberattacks or ensure the stability of the infrastructure). This is usually the case after 14 days.

A Data Processing Agreement (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag, AVV) pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with Netcup GmbH. Netcup processes this data exclusively on my behalf and in accordance with my instructions.

5. Map Picker and Nominatim (Third Party)

When you open or use the "Pick location on map" feature, the following third-party services are involved:

OpenStreetMap map tiles — The map view is loaded from OpenStreetMap servers (*.tile.openstreetmap.org). Your IP address and browser information are transmitted to OpenStreetMap as part of normal HTTP requests.
Nominatim reverse geocoding — When you click a point on the map, the geographic coordinates (latitude, longitude) are sent to the OpenStreetMap geocoding service Nominatim (nominatim.openstreetmap.org) to look up the location (country, region, city, postal code).

If you do not use the map picker, no data is transmitted to OpenStreetMap. The map picker is only activated after your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

6. Encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of data, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the "https://" in the address bar of your browser and the lock icon.

7. No Cookies, No Tracking

This editor does not set cookies and does not use any tracking, analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics), or advertising technologies.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

Regarding the data processed in server log files (see Section 4), you have the following rights under the GDPR:

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
